About
Built by a school operator—not an outside agency.
Mission Built Schools gives small independent and faith-based schools the strategy, systems, and support to strengthen enrollment and build institutional capacity that lasts.
Small schools have shaped my life.
I have spent more than 20 years working in and leading small schools—but my connection to them began much earlier. I attended a small school as a child, and it gave me something I needed: a community where adults knew me well, understood what I needed, and helped me find my footing.
That experience shaped my belief that small schools are worth strengthening and protecting. At their best, they offer families something difficult to replicate: close relationships, responsive leadership, and a genuine sense of belonging.
But the same scale that makes these schools special also creates real challenges. Teams are lean. Budgets are tight. Leaders carry responsibilities that larger institutions divide among entire departments.
Enrollment is only one responsibility among many—but it can determine whether everything else is possible. Healthy enrollment supports strong programs, stable staffing, financial sustainability, and the school's ability to fulfill its mission.

The Mission Built Whole-School Framework
The whole school must be understood.
A school problem is rarely isolated.
An effective educator does not respond to a struggling reader with a generic intervention. First, you determine the cause: fluency, comprehension, inconsistent practice, instruction, or an unmet learning need.
Schools require the same discipline. Weak enrollment might originate in slow follow-up, unclear positioning, inconsistent tours, weak retention, leadership capacity, program fit, or the overall family experience. A new website, advertising campaign, or software platform may treat the symptom while leaving the real constraint untouched.
Mission Built Schools begins by understanding six connected dimensions of the school. Then we build practical systems around its mission, capacity, and underlying needs.
STRONG SCHOOL — Built to Last
The Mission Built Whole-School Framework centers on a Strong School Built to Last, connected to six domains: Mission & Identity, Enrollment & Family Experience, Academics & Student Support, People & Leadership Capacity, Operations & Technology, Finance, Governance & Revenue.
When one area weakens, the effects rarely stay contained.
Operator Experience
Operator experience that translates into execution.
Mission Built Schools brings the perspective of someone who has led schools and built the systems that sustain them. The goal is not another strategy document or complicated platform. It is a stronger, more manageable school.
